In the shape of the event, "Excellent Education for Capacity Building in Smart City Based on Applied AI" organized by the University of Library Studies and Informational Technologies presented the European project ExcellCity: "Strengthening the Scientific Excellence and Innovation Capacity in the Area of Smart City through Twinning", a project financed by the European Union-NextGenerationEU through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria project № BG-RRP-2.005-0003.

 

The event promises to reveal new horizons in smart cities and artificial intelligence. The main topics of the event were:

 

●       Strategy for scientific research and innovations,

 

●       Smart Infrastructure

 

●       Research-based training and experiments

 

The exciting glimpse into the future of applied artificial intelligence

 

●       The Strategy for scientific research and innovation WP for the first 6th months of the project developed a SWOT analysis and selection of good practices for Research and Innovation Strategies.

 

●       The first 6 months for the Smart Infrastructure included requirement analysis and design of the infrastructure architecture.

 

● The last presentation was the Methodology for Research-based education followed by training with young researchers and PhD students at ULSIT.

 

Future work under the ExcellCity includes the updated Research and Innovation Strategy for ULSIT, the development of the Smart Infrastructure, and further training based on the experiments on the smart infrastructure.
